Asheville Community Acupuncture

Shanti

Dr. Shanti Cox, L.Ac.

Shanti is a native to the Blue Ridge Mountains and attended college at Appalachian State University, graduating with her Bachelor's in Sustainable Development. She lived in an intentional yoga and Ayurvedic community in California for many years after college and in 2012 she completed her yoga teacher training. Eager to learn more about the healing arts, she ventured back east to study Western herbalism in the clinical herbal program at Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. After many profound personal experiences with acupuncture and herbs, she was inspired to embark on the life-long journey of studying Chinese Medicine.

Shanti is a North Carolina licensed and board certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She graduated with her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville.

Shanti is committed to supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of her patients in a safe, supportive environment. Beyond acupuncture and herbal medicine, she encourages integrating movement, dietary shifts and self-exploration to help patients reach their full potential. The alchemical combination of how we nourish ourselves has strongly blended both her own personal healing path as well as what she hopes to inspire in her patients. It is an honor for her to offer accessible care and services in a community setting.

When Shanti is not at the clinic, you can find her in the woods - often mountain biking or hiking with her husband and dog. She loves exploring natural movement, new flavors and recipes in the kitchen and being in and around water.
