Tyler White, L.Ac.

Tyler is an acupuncturist and herbalist specializing in Classical Chinese medicine. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Brown University and a four year Master's degree from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts where he studied classical Daoist medicine and philosophy under the renowned educator and 88th generation Daoist Priest Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen. It was here that Tyler became passionate about making classical Chinese Medicine accessible to modern society, maintaining the traditional values of the medicine, while understanding and treating in context with modern science.

In addition to Chinese Medicine, Tyler has studied Huashan neidan practices with Dr. Yuen, a system of exercises focused on the cultivation of qi in such a way as to lengthen life, improve health and strengthen the body and mind. Tyler has also studied martial arts for nearly ten years and in various disciplines, with his current primary practice in Wudang taijiquan (a system of Tai Chi).

Within his acupuncture practice, Tyler draws from his many areas of study and his deep connection to philosophy to cultivate a meaningful experience in each session. He believes that everything in life has purpose, nothing exists in isolation and likewise, that disease has purpose. From a stuffy nose to cancer diagnosis, there is a reason and an objective to these manifestations. They force us to break from our course, to step back and achieve perspective. His intention as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine is to work toward illuminating the mystery behind disease. Tyler is especially enthusiastic to treat patients dealing with neurological issues, autoimmune disorders and mental health conditions.
